Dhagey (L) has been presented to FAM and asked to apologize for what he did

Male', MALDIVES -
VB sports sent a letter to FAM criticizing the football governing body on major five issues and they are FAM’s player selection process for the national team, FAM’s lack of understanding that players’ earn not only from football, how FAM tackles national team players’ problems, the inconsistency in organizing football events and lack of coordination between FAM and players’ respective clubs.

The letter signed by club CEO, Gahthaan, first criticized FAM’s process of selecting players for the national team. VB stated that FAM confirms the players for the national team even before they take players for the practice sessions and suspects that they do this to keep their public relations intact.

Secondly, the club reminded FAM that players’ earning does not come only from football. Indeed, most of the players are involved in another job and due to that they are required to take part in activities organized by their respective employer.

Thirdly, VB sports urged FAM to keep the clubs updated with their players’ status in the national team. VB stated that FAM doesn’t give much attention to players’ injuries and their welfare.

Next VB believed there is inconsistency in how FAM organize and conduct football events in the country. They further added that FAM’s interim committee didn’t accept VB’s proposed plan to develop the sport in the country saying they don’t have such authority to implement such a plan, but the letter says the interim committee has taken much bigger decisions in recent times.

Finally, the club showed disappointment over the coordination between FAM and national team players’ respective clubs. They believed the club deserved to be known the practices their players are undertaking in national team and if they are injured FAM must have a mechanism to inform the respective clubs soon.

“Since the clubs are spending a lot on their players and it is obvious that they will keep a close eye on their players’ welfare and possible injuries. Therefore it is important for FAM to keep the respective clubs well informed about their players’ status in the national team in terms of practices and injuries, so it would be easy for the club to handle the player “the letter, which maldivesoccer.com also received a copy, stated.
